"When We Were Lost" is the story of a group of high school students on their way to Costa Rica to take part in an environmental study trip. When their plane crashes in deep jungle, the tail breaks free and only the students in the back rows survive. But that's just the beginning of their troubles - they're far away from where they're meant to be, and no one is coming to look for them...

The book has since been chosen as one of the books of the year by both Florida Teens Read and the Tome Society, and is currently on the shortlist for the Southern Schools Book Award in the United Kingdom.
Following a bidding war, film rights sold to Stampede, but the project was shelved during the 2020 pandemic.
To date, the book has also been published in Bulgaria, Poland, Germany, France, Russia, and Hungary.
The book was given the "Highly Commended" prize at the Southern Schools Book Award ceremony in the UK, in February 2022.
